Filter-Based Commercial Coffee Machines

Posted on Saturday 17 October 2009

There are many different methods for making coffee but, when it comes to making large quantities of good coffee, filter-based commercial coffee machines are about the best way forward.

Commerical Coffee Machines

These machines work by pouring medium ground coffee beans into a paper filter and placing it over a jug.  Water is then heated to a specifically optimised temperature, before being steadily dripped into the ground coffee beans.  The water absorbs the flavour of the coffee beans and drops down into the waiting pot, where it is collected for serving and kept warm by a hot plate base.

Although the simple filter methods is much cleaner and tidier than plunger pots or strainers, it is important to remember not to leave the coffee jug on the hot plate for too long – this can ruin the flavour.  For this reason, no matter how much time you may have on your hands, try to resist making the coffee until the time is right.  Alternatively, if time is of the essence, you can always boil some water and pour it over the filter yourself!  It may not produce such delicious results, but it’s more important to get the coffee made quickly than not at all!

    Hi,
Yes, it is true if you leave your coffee on heater plate too long you will overcook it and get more bitter taste. But it will not happen if you use stainless steel coffee makers to keep your coffee warm for longer time.
